GoHire Technologies Ltd (“GoHire”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal data when you use our platform—whether you are a business user or a job applicant.

We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and any other applicable data protection laws.

 

1. Who we are

GoHire Technologies Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales with company number 10056150. Our registered office is 2 Forest Farm Business Park, Fulford, York, YO19 4RH, United Kingdom.

We provide recruitment software used by businesses (“clients”) to manage hiring. Depending on how you interact with our platform, we may act as a data controller (for our business users) or a data processor (for candidates applying to our clients’ jobs).

 

2. What data we collect

a. Business users (our clients)

When you register for and use GoHire, we collect:

  • Name and contact information (e.g. email address)

  • Company name and profile details

  • Job and recruitment data you submit

  • Billing and payment information

  • Support correspondence

  • Usage and activity data (e.g. login history, IP address, browser type)

b. Candidates (applicants)

If you apply for a job hosted on GoHire by one of our clients, we process:

  • Name and contact information (e.g. email)

  • CV/resume, cover letter, and uploaded files

  • Answers to screening questions

  • Communication with the employer (e.g. messages, interviews)

  • Optional data such as video interviews, assessments, or social profile links

We process this data on behalf of the employer. They are the data controller responsible for how your information is used.


3. How we use your data

  • To provide the GoHire platform (contract)

  • To communicate with you (legitimate interest)

  • To monitor usage and improve the service (legitimate interest)

  • To process payments (legal obligation / contract)

 

4. Subprocessors and third parties

We use trusted third-party providers (subprocessors) to deliver certain features of our service (e.g. cloud storage, analytics, communications). These subprocessors only process data under our instruction and under strict confidentiality agreements.

We never sell personal data.

 

5. Data retention

  • Business user data: retained while your account is active, and deleted within 30 days of account closure (unless legally required to retain).

  • Candidate data: retained for 12 months by default after the application date, or as specified by the employer (data controller).

  • Billing records: retained for up to 7 years to meet financial and legal obligations.

6. Your rights under data protection law

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

  • Correct any inaccurate or incomplete information

  • Request deletion of your data

  • Restrict or object to how your data is used

  • Receive a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format (data portability)

  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)

If you’re a candidate, you may also contact the employer directly as the data controller.

 

7. Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all traffic

  • AES-256 encryption for stored data

  • Firewalls and access controls

  • Regular security reviews and staff access restrictions

All data is hosted in the United Kingdom using Amazon Web Services (London region).

 

8. International data transfers

We do not transfer personal data outside of the United Kingdom. If this ever changes, we will implement appropriate safeguards in accordance with GDPR (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

 

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in law, technology, or our services. If we make material changes, we will notify users via email or in-app messaging.
